Nothing that occurs in politics surprises me. Disgusts me – yes - but not surprises me.
Yesterday's "performance" by Scott Morrison comes into that category.
I wrote a piece last week called Ελπίδα (hope) αλήθεια (truth) ἀγάπη (love): It's all Greek to politics (see below).
Yesterday was a clear practical example of this.
The Greek word that describes what needs to be conveyed about the matter is arketa - αρκετά which translates as "enough".
But a more phonetically descriptive word is the Italian word "basta".
Whether in Greek, Italian or English the meaning is clear: Enough! That's enough!
If Australian politicians are wondering what leadership looks like on "difficult" moral issues, perhaps they can learn from the Kennedy brothers.
